"Three years and seven months ago our sponsor brought forth on this community the New Horizons Band, conceived in enthusiasm and dedicated to the proposition that making music is fun and it's never too late. Now this New Horizons Band has just played a concert to show that our instructor's and director's efforts are showing results and have not been in vain. We dedicate our performance today to our teachers, our directors, and our sponsor. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. The world will little note nor long remember our concert today, but we, the members of the New Horizons Band, can never forget what our teachers, our directors, and our sponsor have done and continue to do for us to make this possible. We do hereby resolve that their efforts shall not be in vain, and that this band shall continue to improve and that through all of our efforts beautiful music shall not perish from this earth."
